Build a Bear & Stampin Up!

I was selected by Stampin' Up! to participate in an exclusive opportunity with Build-A-Bear Workshop®

Only a small group of 60 U.S. demonstrators were chosen to hold these unique events to be held during the first 2 weeks of December! Today was my first! We had 8 adults, 11 children & numerous Build-a-Bear animals.

I was given a Holly & Hal Christmas movie and 2 books to give away. We had some very happy children! Build-a-Bear also gave away bookmarks and coupons to everyone in attendance.

We had 2 fun make-n-takes. We made a bag tag for their luggage or backpack. I plan on making more of these for Christmas tags on all the gifts for my neices and nephews.

I also took a photo of each child when they arrived and printed them out while the movie was playing. The kids made their own Santa bear with our Big Shot & dies and then we placed him on a picture frame.

What a fun afternoon!

I will be having my second Build-a-Bear/Stampin Up workhop on Monday, Dec. 14th at 6 PM. Please contact me if you are in the Tyler area and would like to participate. This is a great Mommy & Me event (for children 5 and over). Space will be limited. Email me to reserve your space now! april@heartlandham.com

Bleached T-shirts with Decor Elements

Last week my friend Christie & I got together to be crafty while our kids played. We had been dying to try the new bleach technique with our decor elements. Oh, did we have fun!!!!! This may become my new obsession!

So here are our finished shirts.

Here is how:
(1) Take your decor element (I sell TONS of cute ones through Stampin Up. Contact me to order at april@heartlandham or go directly to my website ) and apply it to the t-shirt.

(2) Take it outdoors or cover you work surface. Spray the shirt with a spray bottle of mixed 1/2 Bleach, 1/2 water. You may want to place cardboard in between the layers of the shirt. After spraying, let it sit for a few minutes while you watch it turn colors.

(3) Once it looks the way you like, blot the bleach off the decor element and remove from shirt. You will be able to resuse some of the decor elements.

(4) Rinse out shirt and let dry.

Isn't that the coolest thing ever?!?!?! So simple! What great gifts just in time for the holidays!!!

Brothers & Sisters Page

I'm being a little lazy today.... last day of the Thanksgiving break. I've been taking photos of friends and family all week & decided to make a page with some of my neices and nephews. We took pics until it turned dark outside and we had very little light, but I still like how this one turned out. I love My Digital Studio and whipped this up in a matter of minutes. I can't wait to see how the real thing is going to look printed out!

Dasher Decor Elements Frame

Well, this afternoon I intended to clean my stamp room. It is a complete disaster! I was very overwhelmed so what did I do? I just made a BIGGER mess! I made this frame using scraps from my Holiday Lounge DSP (115676), Hostess Gift Dasher in white, and a little of my FAVORITE ribbon - real red polk-a-dot (115608). The Dasher Decor Element is on top of the glass. Isn't he cute? I can't wait to start decorating this week so that I can hang him up. Hmm.... maybe my stamp room will just stay a mess!

November Stamping Retreat Weekend

We just returned from our second annual stamping retreat. We have such a fun time crafting! We did a little of everything... scrapbooks, cards, fabric flowers, candles, home decor, massages, naps, lauhing, dancing, and making new friends. I am soooo tired, but at the same time feel like I had a great rest by just getting away!

ALL of US...

We had a great Heartland Stamper's Gathering on Tuesday night... Amazing swaps (see last post to view cards), wonderful snacks (Thank you Julia), a cool new technique (Thank you Marsha), fun make-n-takes, and the best ladies some of whom earned awards and goodies from me. Remember, you MUST be at the meeting to receive any of your prizes! I even gave away a My Digital Studio (among other fun things)! Don't miss next month! We will be meeting Dec. 8th at 6 PM at Heartland Ham.

October WOW pages

I have a very busy week ahead of me. Christie & I have a weekend retreat coming up. I am so excited to get away for 3 days to do nothing but stamp. It's the getting ready that is hard. How do I fit my whole stamp room into my car????

We made this scrapbox last month at my last WOW class. The right side folds up into a box and then unfolds and will lie flat in a page protector. My boys loved this layout I made of their 7th birthday. They want me to make them one of their own. Maybe for Christmas...
