Brothers & Sisters Page

I'm being a little lazy today.... last day of the Thanksgiving break. I've been taking photos of friends and family all week & decided to make a page with some of my neices and nephews. We took pics until it turned dark outside and we had very little light, but I still like how this one turned out. I love My Digital Studio and whipped this up in a matter of minutes. I can't wait to see how the real thing is going to look printed out!

Dasher Decor Elements Frame

Well, this afternoon I intended to clean my stamp room. It is a complete disaster! I was very overwhelmed so what did I do? I just made a BIGGER mess! I made this frame using scraps from my Holiday Lounge DSP (115676), Hostess Gift Dasher in white, and a little of my FAVORITE ribbon - real red polk-a-dot (115608). The Dasher Decor Element is on top of the glass. Isn't he cute? I can't wait to start decorating this week so that I can hang him up. Hmm.... maybe my stamp room will just stay a mess!

November Stamping Retreat Weekend

We just returned from our second annual stamping retreat. We have such a fun time crafting! We did a little of everything... scrapbooks, cards, fabric flowers, candles, home decor, massages, naps, lauhing, dancing, and making new friends. I am soooo tired, but at the same time feel like I had a great rest by just getting away!

ALL of US...

Heartland Stampers Christmas Celebration

We had a great Heartland Stamper's Gathering on Tuesday night... Amazing swaps (see last post to view cards), wonderful snacks (Thank you Julia), a cool new technique (Thank you Marsha), fun make-n-takes, and the best ladies some of whom earned awards and goodies from me. Remember, you MUST be at the meeting to receive any of your prizes! I even gave away a My Digital Studio (among other fun things)! Don't miss next month! We will be meeting Dec. 8th at 6 PM at Heartland Ham.

Getting ready to swap....

I'm getting ready for our Heartland Stampers Team Gathering tonight. I love getting together with other demonstrators. We are all so excited about the same things.... stamps!

Here is a layout we did at my scrapbook class. I can't wait to print out photos of Lyla to put on this page. Isn't the Build a Bear witch adorable? I love how versatile these bears are!!!

October WOW pages

I have a very busy week ahead of me. Christie & I have a weekend retreat coming up. I am so excited to get away for 3 days to do nothing but stamp. It's the getting ready that is hard. How do I fit my whole stamp room into my car????

We made this scrapbox last month at my last WOW class. The right side folds up into a box and then unfolds and will lie flat in a page protector. My boys loved this layout I made of their 7th birthday. They want me to make them one of their own. Maybe for Christmas...

FLOWERS!

Here is how to make those cute flowers you keep asking for! I am offering a class on Wed. Nov. 11th from 12-2 & 6-8 if you are in my area. If not, supplies you need are the Big Shot, Extended dies, and Flower Folds die. Plus, when you purchase all 3 of these things you get a $15 die free!!! You can order directly on my website at www.aprilroycroft.stampinup.net or just call me 903-216-7169 or email me april@heartlandham.com and I will hook you up :) I'm offering specials on the Big Shot at my class on the 11th. You will not want to miss it!

Cut your flowers using the Flower Folds Die and your Big Shot. You will need 4 of each size you want to use. You may use all sizes small, medium, large & extra large to make a flower. I made this one for a 1 year old so I only used the medium and large flowers.

Next, I took my 4 large flowers and folded them in half. I used a little hot glue to keep them folded.

Start layering your first two flowers as shown.

And the third...

Once you have all 4 layers, pop the bottom first one back to the top just like if you were folding in a box. Remember you want to see all of your patterns....

Like this. Glue or stitch them together.

Do the same with the other sizes you are using. Then glue or stitch the layered flowers on top of each other. I like to add a little tulle in between the layers.

Add your clip or pin or both to the back.

Embellish with a button. I love covering buttons with matching fabrics. What a great gift for anyone!
